Cobb County Ordinances

In addition to the subdivision covenant restrictions, Oakleigh residents must adhere to the ordinances of Cobb County. Some of the provisions of the Cobb County code are:

  • No materials, equipment or business vehicles may be stored or parked on the premises, except for one business vehicle, used exclusively by the resident.
  • Vehicles may not be parked in the grass or unimproved surface between the roadway and the home's front setback.
  • Animals are required to be on a leash when outside unless contained by a fence.
  • Pet owners are responsible for collecting animal waste and disposing of it properly.
  • Any fence or wall adjacent to a public road right-of-way and within a residential front yard cannot be more than six (6) feet in height.
  • Accessory buildings and/or structures must be located at the back of a home and no closer than five (5) feet from the property line.
  • Residents cannot have more than six unrelated people living in a single family dwelling.

Penalties for violations of the code may include incarceration and fines of up to $1000 for each violation.
